The 30-Day Lean Bulk Challenge

What Is Creatine: Muscle, Strength, Energy & Cognition

What Is Creatine: Muscle, Strength, Energy & Cognition

Creatine is one of the most studied and used supplements there are, both for lean muscle gain, energy, endurance and recovery, but also for reaction time, cognitive health and focus, affecting the brain, nervous system, heart and much more.

It’s used by athletes for more explosive power: sprinting, heavy lifting and intense exercise.

It allows for greater endurance in training, more reps per set before fatigue sets in, faster recovery between sets or sprints and can help lengthen workouts and exercise time.

It also helps with lean muscle creation, reduced muscle damage and even helps maintain lean muscle during calorie restriction or fasting — without breaking the fast.

And it adds fullness and denseness to our muscles.

But it does more than this. Just as it supports muscle, it also supports the neurons that make up our brain and nervous system, supporting focus, cognition and mental fatigue, and many people take it solely for this.

Due to this it helps with reaction time, memory and exhaustion.

It also helps with aging, helping prevent muscle loss as we get older, supporting bone density and improving overall cellular energy levels, as energy failure is central to nerve degeneration.

And for vegans and vegetarians it’s a must as creatine comes almost exclusively from meats, not plant sources.

So if we’re not eating meats we have to rely solely on creatine being created inside our body, which happens at lower levels due to lower amounts of amino acids received from plant foods.

This can lead to lower energy levels, less muscle mass, mental fatigue and stress.

As creatine is vegan, vegans and vegetarians supplementing with it can experience some of the most noticeable benefits both in energy and muscle, as well as focus and stress levels.

So that’s what it does and what it affects.

But what is it, how does it work and, most importantly, how can you use it to help you?

Are Seed Oils Really Bad For Us?

August 21, 2025 8 min read

Are Seed Oils Really Bad For Us?

There’s a lot of talk right now regarding processed foods and seed oils.

Are they bad for us, good for us, don’t make a difference?

Which is it?

In this article we’re going to dive into seed oils.

But before we do, let’s make sure we’re looking at this properly.

We only ever really get into trouble knowing if something is “good” or “bad” if we’re speaking in generalities.

Because the statement “seed oils are bad” isn’t true. But the statement “seed oils are good” is also untrue.

Some seed oils, cooked at very high heat, can be very harmful to us, causing accelerated aging, poor skin, inflammatory responses in the body, low energy and much more.

But others are not only beneficial, they’re absolutely essential.

So if we want to know the truth, we need to ask:

Which seed oil are we talking about?

What does that seed oil do in the body?

Are we talking about imbalances where in one amount it’s bad but another it’s good?

How was the seed oil used: was it raw, lightly cooked or cooked at high temperatures, thus changing it into something else entirely that our body can’t use?

There are some seed oils that help with fat loss, some that prevent fat loss, some that are needed for our cells to work properly and some that destroy our cells.

So instead of speaking in a generality of “are they bad or good,” let’s break this all down and see if we can't get some real answers.

A Day In The Life: Using PerfectAmino For Maximum Lean Muscle

Today we want to walk you through a day in the life of someone using PerfectAmino and other BodyHealth Products to build more lean muscle, while slimming down, showing when and how they're taken for best results.

And not just that, what other actions do they take during the day? What exercises do they do and when? What foods do they eat and when? (And we include recipes.) How do they get maximum sleep for recovery?

All of these points are important.

We have the PerfectAmino Usage Guide, which provides a high level description of how to take PerfectAmino depending on your goals, and which covers all the main questions.

But in this article we’re going to dive into the details, along with the proper diet and key actions to take during the day to maximize lean muscle building while slimming down as covered in the Lean Body/Lean Bulk Protocol.

How Toxins Affect Our Hormones: Building Muscle & Fat Loss

How Toxins Affect Our Hormones: Building Muscle & Fat Loss

We've spoken a lot about hormones on the Lean Body/Lean Bulk Program, but not how toxins affect these.

Testosterone levels have been dropping for decades and the largest lab testing company, Lab Corp, actually lowered the standard of what “acceptable” testosterone levels are.

At the same time, estrogen levels have risen sharply in both women and men, and thyroid has become a growing issue.

All of this affects our ability to build lean muscle, lose body fat, and maintain heathy levels of lean muscle and fat. And it lowers our overall mood and health.

But while we've covered individual factors that can cause specific hormones to go too high or too low, there is another factor that affects them more broadly, and significantly.

There are exact chemicals in the environment (in our food, air, and water) which didn't exist before.

And these chemicals can do several things in the body:

They can block certain hormones from being created.

They can block them from being able to communicate their instructions to a cell, or disrupt the cell's normal actions.

Or they can impersonate certain hormones entirely, giving our cells the message a hormone normally would, but not when the brain says to.

And while this affects muscle-building and fat loss significantly, its effect goes far beyond this.

It isn't a small issue. And every year its effects grow.

In this article we cover what's happening and what you can do about it.

Thyroid, Estrogen & Progesterone: Speeding Fat Loss & Lean Muscle Creation

If we want to slim down while gaining lean muscle or toning our muscles, we need to address our hormones.

This is because achieving hormonal balance allows our body to fully and correctly utilize the nutrients we’re consuming for what we do want and not for what we don’t want.

We’ve already covered how high Cortisol hinders fat loss and slows muscle growth. As well as how Growth Hormone, Testosterone and IGF help to speed fat loss and muscle growth.

But there is another aspect to this balancing act: Estrogen, Progesterone and Thyroid.

These hormones exist in both women and men, and are each necessary in proper amounts.

But when they go out of balance, they can create a vicious spiral that raises cortisol and cravings for junk food, lowers growth hormone, testosterone and IGF, and makes fat loss and muscle gains much harder all around.

End Of The Lean Body/Lean Bulk Challenge: Where To Go From Here

Well done on completing the 30 Day Lean Body/Lean Bulk Challenge!

While you may feel and look different on the outside... on the inside things are even more different.

We’ve balanced hormones and repaired or replaced trillions of cells.

We’ve removed fat not only from our fat cells, but from our organs such as our liver and kidney, where it can make them less efficient or prevent them from doing their job.

We’ve built lean muscle and, depending on where we started, changed our body shape.

We’ve improved digestion and the microbiome, the most important gatekeepers for our overall health.

We’ve improved our body’s energy levels, our endurance, and our body's ability to recover, burn body fat and build lean muscle.

And we've set ourselves up, if we maintain our current lifestyle, to stay lean and continue to add muscle.

And if we have some extra deserts and gain a couple of pounds... we're now much more physically and hormonally set up to lose that very fast, often within a couple of days.

In short… we’ve done a lot!

But what do we do now?

Week One Of The 30-Day Lean Body/Lean Bulk Challenge

Welcome to Week One of the Lean Body/Lean Bulk Challenge!

In this article we cover what metrics to keep track of, dialing in your macros and workouts, and what to expect during week one.

In the first week of this challenge we have several things happening.

We’re trying to switch our diet so our bodies are getting what they need to build lean muscle without the excess calories or hormone-triggering foods that would cause fat gain.

With this comes restructuring our cells so they will use the foods we’re giving them properly and balancing or increasing hormone levels so our body will prioritize building lean muscle over body fat.

We’re addressing digestion, which is crucial to our overall health as well as building muscle, as we need our cells to receive all of the nutrients and vitamins we’re consuming.

You will be consuming a lot of whole food proteins, which your stomach is probably not used to receiving, and it will need extra help until it builds up enough stomach acid and enzymes of its own.

So make sure you’re taking your digestive enzymes with each meal during this.

We’ll also be working to dial in our exact macros.

And we may be experiencing some cravings.
